Deployment Case Study: Situational Awareness and Vehicle Interdiction (SAVI)

In June of 2024, Bowler Pons fully deployed SAVI, a fully-integrated and autonomous access control point detection and interdiction system. For one of the largest military bases in the world, SAVI -- built on the framework of our ShadowGuardTM platform -- is actively providing continuous tracking and accounting of all inbound and outbound traffic with the ability to automatically interdict vehicles in violation of gate access protocols.

Announcing the Deployment of SAVI

Discovery & Assessment

01

Bowler Pons worked with their client to identify a critical security gap at one of the world's largest military bases, one that plagues most organizations, where traditional CCTV, legacy vehicle detection, and unauthorized access prevention systems were insufficient against evolving threats. Through a comprehensive assessment, they identified the need for an advanced solution that leveraged LiDAR technology, AI, and machine learning to enhance situational awareness and prevent unauthorized access effectively.

Crossing the Deployment Chasm

02

Overcoming the common challenges of moving from prototype to full deployment, Bowler Pons successfully utilized elements of the internal development (ShadowGuardTM) to move from Discovery & Assessment to deployment of the Situational Awareness and Vehicle Interdiction (SAVI) system into operational use. Utilizing internal R&D and DoD research funds, they integrated their proprietary Apollo4D software with industrial control systems and non-lethal vehicle interdiction capabilities. Rigorous testing in diverse environments ensured the system's reliability and adaptability, leading to its operational verification in June 2024.
